BEER Festival: The village hall and garden was overflowing last Saturday, for the annual Beer Festival. Among the beers available (from breweries including Sherfield Village Brewery) Thirst Past the Post, Boozy Floozy and Happy Harrington and Pilgrim Stout. There were also burgers, face-painting and live music from Soul and Fire and Johnny Boxcars.

Natalie says: “We’d like to thank all the helpers. The committee were really pleased with how the day went and look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”

1960s/’70s disco: Is on in the village hall on Saturday, October 18. So, get out your mini-skirts or platform shoes and turn back the clock for a great evening of nostalgia. Tickets from The Shop or 01256 886550.

MACMILLAN Coffee Morning: Thanks to everyone who took part in the World’s greatest coffee morning last Friday, including the 30 people who came to my house, where we raised £298.40. Thanks to those who came along, the people who donated cakes and biscuits (Carol, Mary-Ann, Anthea, Geraldine and Jill), and all who helped to make it a success.
