EVENING bus service: In town on a Friday or Saturday evening? The borough council is running a pilot evening bus service, connecting from the bus and train stations to six other parts of the town as well as northwards to Baughurst. BCA AGM: Coming up on Thursday, September 4, it’s Brookvale Community Association’s AGM. Doors open at the village hall at 7.10pm, with refreshments available, and a talk to follow the meeting by local author and historian Alan Turton on ‘The Sieges of Basing House’. The event is free to local residents, £2 at the door for visitors.
