OPERA Gala: Join Mimi and Rudolfo, as once more her ‘little hand is frozen’ at Tylney Hall this Sunday, as the Candlelight Chamber Orchestra accompanies Puccini’s tragic story of doomed love La Boheme, set during the 1840s in the Latin Quarter of Paris.

Tickets for the complete dinner and champagne package are sold out but there are a limited number of performance-only seats left at £60 each, as well as a waiting list. Culture vultures please telephone Marion Bampton on 745533 for availability.

LEST we forget: The World War I centenary was marked in Rotherwick Church last Monday, as we paid homage to all those from our community who were caught up in the conflict.

The Reverend Peter Hewlett-Smith officiated at the short service to honour the 29 young men from Rotherwick who didn’t come back, including three from the same family, two from another and two Royal Navy sailors.

Their names were read out by churchwarden Avis Hall – we will remember them as we live in their houses and walk on their paths 100 years on from the war.
