TEAS in the Parish Church next Sunday afternoon only – wedding Saturday, from 2pm-5pm. Monies raised will be given to Mary’s Meals, providing African schoolchildren with one meal a day.
SILCHESTER Players: Present Twelfth Night, their first Shakespeare offering in October. Look out for the dates.
CRICKET: Silchester maintained their push for promotion last Saturday, with a nine-wicket home victory over Aldershot. Shaun Bradley and Dave Minifie both made half centuries and Jack French took four wickets for 22 runs.
ROMAN site: Was very busy again last Saturday and again on Sunday despite the inclement weather.
HARVEST lunch: Have you put your name down for this event? If not, this is the last reminder. Everyone welcome but numbers needed to cover the catering. The date is September 14, at The Old Manor House Barn. Names now to Heather or Em via the church.
BEER Festival: Is taking place on September 13. Tickets £11, include two drinks, a light supper and a Silchester tankard. Tickets are now on sale from Jays Stores and The Calleva Arms.
