SUMMER Show: So, hot on the heels of summer comes the Horticultural Society’s Summer Show.

Schedules can be obtained from committee members and there are plenty of classes to enter for anyone who would like to take part.

FILM Screening: On Thursday, August 7, the Social and Entertainment Club will show Le Weekend.

Featuring Jim Broadbent and Jeff Goldblum, this bittersweet comedy will take you on an emotional journey.

A long-married couple revisit Paris for the first time since their honeymoon.

Tickets are £2, and there’s a licensed bar and refreshments. Doors open at 7.30pm, film from 8pm. All welcome, from far and wide.

CHURCH service: In addition to common worship at St Leonard’s, on Sunday, at 9.45am, there is a special service of reflection at St Andrew’s from 6pm, marking the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
