CELEBRATION of Sally Adams’ life: Was well attended last Saturday, at St Martin’s Church, Ellisfield.
Having heard the tributes to Sally, who was such a widely respected journalist, writing and editing for many well-respected newspaper and magazines across the world, as well as teaching generations of aspiring journalists, I feel humbled that when she left Ellisfield, she asked me to take up the baton and write this weekly piece, advising: ‘try not to be boring and mention as many people as possible’.
GOOD times: We had an amazing weekend in Ellisfield last weekend, thanks to so many people – Bernard Cazenove for arranging the croquet competition won by Michael Courage, with Mark Duncan second; Caroline Cazenove, for delicious teas and allowing open access to her delightful garden; Tim Guinness for arranged tennis tournament, won by Mini and Stephen Loftus with Sue and Phil Self second.
Sunday saw the return of the village barbecue, enjoyed by nearly 90 and masterminded by Susie Deane.
