LODDON Sports Junior FC: Had their annual presentations day (the 43rd to date) in the Sports Hall at Sherfield School.
Winners of the main trophies were: George Watson, Liam Thompson, Chris Chambers, Max Setrem, Faith Nother, Edward Pooles, Ben Watkins, Theo Leddy, Sebastian Gross, Paul Jerome and Sam Walters. Kathleen Gaiger presented the Brian Gaiger Memorial Shield, and Ken Davis presented the Colin Davis Memorial Cup.
The club is to host a Reading Football Club Soccer School on Thursday and Friday, August 14 and 15, on the village green.
ST LEONARD’s Church: Had a special service for the dedication of the church extension last Sunday. Richard Elphick greeted the congregation and said it had taken 10 years to plan and complete. The Bishop of Winchester, The Rt Reverend Tim Dakin, conducted the service and cut the ribbon to declare the new facilities open. Refreshments were served in the extension after the service.
