BASINGSTOKE Festival: It’s now week two of the Basingstoke Festival with a range of free events to suit multiple tastes – all within easy walking distance of our local area.

“Bronze for the World” exhibition: At The Willis Museum and Sainsbury Gallery (Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10am to 4pm until July 12 ) celebrates the work of specialist art foundry, Morris Singer.

Just up from Kings Furlong, in Council Road, teachers from Proteus Creation Space have their own art exhibition, featuring a variety of media, through to July 11.

For this weekend coming and the one following, 30-minute street theatre performances run at Festival Square, Festival Place, between noon and 3pm both Saturday and Sunday.

Not to miss out, The Malls Shopping Centre and Top of The Town have mesmerising dance by “The Whizzers” at 11am, noon, 2pm and 3pm respectively this coming Saturday.

And for those with a taste for music, the weekend’s free entertainment rounds off with Hannington Silver Band performing in Eastrop Park on Sunday, at 3pm.
