CREAM Teas: The Methodist Church is serving cream teas each Sunday until the end of July, from 3pm to 5.30pm in the hall and the garden.
There will also be a craft stall. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy a cream tea.
CANTEMOS Choir: Will give special concert in the parish church on Saturday, July 12, from 7.30pm.
The music is by several British composers, and there will be some readings too.
Tickets on sale now cost £8 (including a glass of wine) from 0118 0700825.
ROMAN dig dates: Sadly the final year in Silchester. The diggers arrive on Monday, July 7, and are on site until August 16. Open daily Saturday to Thursday, from 10am to 4pm. There will also be open days on July 26 and August 9.
CHURCH organ: Is now in the process of being repaired and renewed and is in many pieces in the church. This has required a little re-ordering of the pews.
The organ was built in 1860 and has had very little major work done since then!
