PICNIC in the Park: To commemorate the anniversary of the D-Day landings, Pamber Parish Council is organising a Picnic in the Park, at Pamber Park, just off Burney Bit, Pamber Heath, on Saturday, June 7, from 2pm-5pm.

Parishioners from Pamber Parish, which includes the Pambers and Little London, are invited to take along any items of First World War or Second World War memorabilia. A prize will be awarded for the most authentic picnic, so get out your recipe books, Spam and dried egg!

There will be live music, family activities and presentations by local youth groups. The Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane will open the event and light the beacon after the picnic. Call the parish clerk on 01256 882571.

PAMBER Heath Memorial Hall committee: At the AGM, Dorothy Oakley was re-elected as hall chairwoman. The committee plans to refurbish the kitchen and provide new hall chairs, funds permitting. New committee members are welcome. Contact Dorothy on 0118 970 0302.
