EVERGREENS: May says: “Our May meeting was our birthday party with entertainment and a cream tea. Next month’s meeting is on June 2. We are going on an outing to Millets Farm Centre, Oxfordshire, instead of our meeting in the village hall.”
SHERFIELD NWR: Their May meeting was a very interesting talk on chocolate. Adrian Smith, from the Mortimer Chocolate Company, mortimerchocolate.co.uk is a former chocolate taster/buyer for Masterfoods. Gill says: “He has an extensive knowledge on the production of chocolate from Africa and South America.
“He brought samples, which were delicious, and entertained us with his amusing stories. A couple of our members had made cakes and truffles, which went down very well.”
FETE: This year’s village fete is on Saturday, June 14. The grand parade and opening is at 12.30pm.
Attractions include Rockin’ on the Green with Stone Gecko and Frottage, a falconry display, BasingClog Morris and Hook Eagle Morris.
Profits this year in aid of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, the village hall and other local groups.
