GARDEN open: West Silchester Hall Garden will be open on May 25 and May 26 from 2pm to 6pm, with the owner’s paintings on display and teas available.
Entry is £3.50, and children free of charge. There will also be plants for sale. Dogs on leads are allowed.
CREAM teas: The Methodist Church will be serving cream teas throughout June, every Sunday, from 3pm to 5.30pm. Do come along, sit in the garden and enjoy the plants.
PARISH church: Work starts on dismantling the organ in the next week or so, perhaps a bit messy but worth a look to see the “works” involved.
SILCHESTER Fete: Is taking place on the playing field from noon on Saturday, June 21.
There will be many stalls, and entertainment, including a hawk display, dog show, ferret racing, beer tent and teas.
Rumour has it that a bride, whose wedding is that same afternoon, will pay a visit so keep a look out!
Helpers are still needed too. More information from silchesterfete.org.uk.
