GREEN shoots: The carpet of snowdrops in St Martin’s churchyard is being interwoven with the beautiful pale yellow of wild daffodils. In gardens too, the first green shoots of spring are encouraging gardeners out to tend their plots. The Basingstoke and Deane Green Waste scheme has just started for 2014.
You can sign up online at basingstoke.gov.uk and sacks will be delivered within five working days. The annual fee, payable in advance, is £30 for collection of two large, hard-wearing and reusable sacks. Additional sacks can be requested for £13 each.
