BASINGSTOKE Civil Service Retirement Fellowship: Their February meeting heard an interesting, informative and amusing talk by the former estate manager of Hackwood House on the subject of the house’s auction of contents from the Camrose estate.

The fellowship’s next activity is its annual general meeting, at 10am, on Wednesday, March 5, at Brookvale Village Hall, followed by lunch at the Conservative Club, in Bounty Road.

Membership of the fellowship, which is open to all retired civil servants and their partners, can be via direct debit, annual payment or life membership. Further details, including about transport to the lunch venue on March 5, can be obtained from the secretary, Tony Brazier, on 01256 418770.

CALLING all art lovers. Land Marks is an exhibition by Wayne Jefferson of landscapes inspired by the local Hampshire countryside, running at The Willis Museum from this Saturday through to Saturday, March 29.

At the same venue, and also not to be missed, from April 5 is an exhibition by New Forest artist and illustrator of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books, Paul Kidby.
