A BEGINNERS’ Guide to Growing Vegetables: If like me you’ve enthusiastically embarked on the challenge of growing vegetables, you may have had mixed results, perhaps great runner beans and disappointing carrots! Yesterday evening tips were given by local gardening expert, Eddie Rapley, at Cliddesden’s Millennium Hall.
QUIZ Night: On Sunday, at The Fox at 8pm. Teams of four or less, entry is £1 per person, which will go towards the prize fund. Supper (£4) available between two rounds of questions, which will be set by Quizmaster Mark Thomas.
PARISH Council: Meets for the first time this year, on Monday, at 7.30pm in Ellisfield Memorial Hall.
BURNS Night Supper: Amazingly, the show continued, despite a three-hour power-cut. Sue Dove pulled out all the stops to ensure more than 30 members and friends of Ellisfield Ladies Club members enjoyed a fabulous Burns Night Supper last Saturday. Congratulations to Sue Self and Alison Swanston, who shared first prize for their ‘Tartan dress.’
