NWR: Met on Thursday, January 9, and made plans for the year. Gill says: “We decided on a Belgium theme evening, talks including one on chocolate and also what women did during the wars, our usual ramble and pub meal, research into names, a barge trip on the Basingstoke Canal, a play reading, music evening and much more.
“The NWR January meeting was a light-hearted games evening.”
ANNUAL winter barn dance: Is on Saturday, February 1, in the village hall, from 8pm to midnight. Pitchfork will be playing and there’ll be a cash bar.

PARISH council: Met recently, and ward councillor Ranil Jayawardena was also in attendance. PCSO James Ricaby was present to discuss matters of crime and disorder. He said there had been a couple of road traffic incidents, and encouraged everyone to report anything suspicious using the 101 number, giving as much information as possible.
PC Mandy Jewell has now retired but no replacement has yet been appointed.
