OPEN evening: The next BCoT open evening takes place on January 27 from 6pm to 8pm. The evening includes apprenticeship workshops and also features A-levels starting in September.

PARENTS evening: Wednesday, January 29, is Year 10 parents evening at Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College.

BID for cash: Calling all local community groups – the borough council’s Local Infrastructure Fund is a grant scheme for community and other groups working in areas of recent housebuilding, with the aim of delivering facilities and infrastructure improvements over £25,000 and with long-term impact. The first funding round ends on January 31, and full details are available on the council’s website.

BASINGSTOKE Civil Service Retirement Fellowship: Meets on the first Wednesday of each month, at Brookvale Village Hall from 10am to noon, and all retired Civil Servants and their partners are welcome.

At the next meeting, on February 5, Brian Spicer will be paying a return visit to give more information about Hackwood House and has titled his talk “Sale of the Century”.
