VILLAGE Life: I’ve touched on this subject before in my column but there are two vital subjects which need attention. One is the risk of overbuilding in our area. The very dedicated people at SOLVE have voluntarily spent many hours studying the pre-submission Local Plan and the implications for the infrastructure around Old Basing. They do need your support and comments, so please sign up for regular news and updates at their website solveloddon.org.
The second matter is also about volunteering, in this case for the village hall committee, who desperately need some more assistance with the management of this vital resource.
If you do rent the hall for events, perhaps you could assist with the organisation. John Davie has given 20 years at the helm and must stand down as chairman in May. Please contact him on 464168 if you are willing to help out.
JUMBLE Sale: February 1, starting at 2pm. Sorters and sellers needed and, of course, loads of donations of saleable stuff. Leave it in the village hall ante-room during the preceding week.
