OUTDOOR gym units: There’s still time for local residents in Brookvale to give their views on borough council plans for “outdoor gym” units at King George V Playing Fields and Victory Park, and open space improvements to the northwest of Victory Roundabout.

The council is suggesting two sets of outdoor exercise equipment on the northern half of King George V Playing Fields and one in the western half of Victory Park.

Between them, these three sets would have a total of 13 “stations” including chest, shoulder and leg presses, cross trainers and static bikes. Near Victory Roundabout, the plan is to create a “pocket park” of natural green space with native shrubs for year round interest.

The proposals can be viewed online at: basingstoke.gov.uk/ browse/leisure-and-culture/parksand- open-spaces/equipped-playareas.htm.

The deadline for comments is January 5, either in writing to Community Services, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, RG21 4AH, or by email to communityservices@basingstoke.gov.uk.
