CHRISTMAS celebrations: Have been in full swing this week. Following last weekend’s successful Christmas fayre at Farleigh, The Fox at Ellisfield was bulging at the seams for Ellisfield Ladies Festival of Carols and Christmas songs.
The group, led by Theresa Lunn, sang a range of Christmas favourites including an Irving Berlin medley, a calypso carol and more traditional carols which the audience joined in. Thanks to Sue and Graham for providing mulled wine and mince pies.
FESTIVE fayre: Another successful Christmas fayre was held at Ellisfield Memorial Hall, where nearly £2,000 was raised for St Martin’s Church and Memorial Hall funds. Nearly 100 people enjoyed the afternoon, and thanks must go to Caroline Cazenove for master-minding this traditional event, where the produce stall was positively groaning under a mouthwatering array of delicious cakes and savouries, the craft stall was laden with the most amazing items all handcrafted in Ellisfield and Father Christmas ensured the children had fun.
