CONGRATULATIONS: Rather belatedly to Bernard Cazenove, who was the only Ellisfield resident to successfully complete the Basingstoke half-marathon this year.
RACE Nights: Rather like buses, Ellisfield has been a bet-free zone for ages but now there are two opportunities to pit your wits with the animals.
Following the highly successful event held in 2011, this Saturday Ellisfield Ladies will be hosting an evening of pig racing, which has been sold out almost since it appeared on the events programme.
For those lucky enough to have a ticket, it promises to be an evening of thrills and spills spiced up by a curry supper or steak pie for the faint-hearted!
DREAMS Come True, a national charity for terminally and seriously ill children: Is to benefit from funds raised by the Fox Inn’s race night to be held on Wednesday, November 13, from 8pm. Contact Graham and Sue Dove (381210) for more information.
There will no doubt be enthusiastic betting on the night and the opportunity for owners, jockeys, trainers and sponsors of each race to win prizes.
