WINE-TASTING: As expected, Ellisfield Ladies’ visit to Court Lane vineyard last weekend was a great success.
Thankfully, the rain stopped to allow a tour of the vineyard to see the vines laden with fruit ready to harvest in October for this year’s vintage.
Many thanks to Mandy and the committee for organising the trip and to Stephen and Jill Flook for the wonderful guided tour and, of course, the ubiquitous wine tasting which followed.
AWARDS for village children: I am pleased to report how children in the village have achieved recognition.
One family has achieved a ‘Royal Flush’ of Chief Scout’s Awards – Johnathan Gould has gained a Bronze Award, whilst his cousins Daria and Bernard Cooke have achieved Gold and Platinum respectively.
Daria has been busy this summer, dancing in the Magic of Dance at The Haymarket theatre in July and completing her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award, whilst Bernard has qualified for a place in a chess tournament of the top 500 seniors in the country.
