EVERGREENS: May reports: “We did not have our usual meeting for the month of August. Instead, we went on a lovely river trip from Runnymede to Windsor. The next meeting on Monday, September 2, is a talk on Stratfield Saye House and Estate.”

READING Road Festival at the White Hart this weekend: A Craft and Garden Fayre starts at noon, on Sunday, and there’s live music, bouncy castle and hog roast.
NWR: Recently held their book evening and discussed “Hunting Midnight” by Richard Zimler.
Tonight, the group will meet for an organised walk, guided by Sheena Archer and a 1901 map to learn some of the history of the village.
