QUIZ Night: Friday, March 1, in the village hall, organised by Silchester Association, quiz master Tony Stanley.
Teams assemble at 7.30pm for a start at 8pm. Tickets cost £5. Bring your own drinks and nibbles.
AGM for Silchester Association: Friday, April 12. This meeting will be critical, as new committee members are now needed urgently. There are lots of suggestions for events, all it needs is some help in organising them.
WOMEN’S World Day of Prayer: On Friday, March 1, at 2pm, in the URC Church, Tadley.
CONGRATULATIONS: To Maurice Bound, of Silchester Methodist Church, who very recently celebrated his 100th birthday and who will be preaching at the Methodist Church on Sunday, March 3.
Maurice was the first headmaster at The Hurst school and was a hard worker for the Silchester magazine for many years when he lived in the village.
A belated “happy birthday” from all at St Mary’s Church.
