VALENTINE’S Disco: The Labour Club is holding a fancy dress (Vicars and Tarts) Valentine’s Disco. Tickets are free for members and £5 for non-members (purchased by a member).
Tickets are on sale at the Labour Club until 5pm Saturday. Entrance by ticket only, and none will be sold on the door.
CARPET cleaning scam warning: Hampshire County Council’s Trading Standards Service is warning residents to be aware of fraudulent traders offering carpet cleaning services.
The trader will normally make initial contact by posting an advertising card through the front door. This may include a list of prices that look reasonable, and even include a fixed rate for cleaning a number of rooms.
The householder is invited to phone to make an appointment and a price may be agreed over the phone.
However, when the trader arrives, they may recommend that additional work or special treatments are carried out which will result in an inflated charge.
COUNCILLORS’ surgery: The next South Ham/Berg Estate Councillors’ Surgery will be held today, 7.30pm to 8.30pm at Westside Community Centre, in Paddock Road.
