COFFEE Morning: Every Tuesday, there is a coffee morning at Oakley Methodist Church from 10am to noon. It costs just 50p for a ‘bottomless’ cup of tea or coffee with biscuits. There are also hand-made cards for sale, and all proceeds go to charity.

THE National Childbirth Trust: Hold a coffee morning every Friday at 10.30am for parents with babies or pre-school children in Oakley. If you would like to meet up with other Oakley parents, contact Alison Edwards on 780122.

MOBILE Library: The next visit to Oakley of the mobile library is to Kennet Way on Monday, January 7 from 1.30pm to 4pm.

QUIZ Night: The first quiz night of the year is being held at Jolly Olly’s on Friday, January 25. If you would like to join in, just get together a team of four and pop into the shop to book your place. It costs £2 per player and the winning team claims all the entry fees as prize money.
