REMEMBER, remember the third of November!: That’s when the Rotherwick Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza kicks off from 6.30pm onwards.
The bonfire, in the field behind the village hall, thanks to the Jones family, of Rooks Farm, will be lit at 7pm with the firework display at 7.30pm.
Guy competition, free glass of mulled wine upon entry and hot dogs on sale for £1, plus cash bar. Best of all, no entry fee but, as always, donations towards the hall gratefully accepted. The Coach and Horses is also laying on a post-bonfire supper after the fireworks.
STAY alert: Last month, the copper waste-water pipes at the Scout Den were stolen from the outer wall of the building. Sadly metal theft is becoming big business, so if anyone is aware of suspicious activity there or anywhere else in the village, please let the police know on 0845 0454545.
THIRD time lucky: Congratulations to our parish clerk Karyn Reid and family on the birth of third child George.
