Oakley and Deane WI’s plans for a July summer garden party at The Fox pub for their July monthly meeting were somewhat thwarted by the weather. However, all was not lost as the meeting was transferred to the function room and a most enjoyable social evening was held with quizzes, food and chat!
Obviously the business was kept to an absolute minimum but reminders were given about the Oakley Village Show where members are doing the teas, the Autumn Federation Meeting at The Anvil and the visit to Buckingham Palace in September to see the Queen’s diamonds for which payment is required next month.
At the August meeting Mrs Russell will be giving a talk on Queen Alexandra and any visitors will be most welcome. As usual, the meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of the month at the Andover Road Village Hall from 7.30pm to 9.45pm
