MANY members went home from the July meeting ready to take stock of their wardrobes following a talk by Kate Haynes on “Colour Me Beautiful.”

She mentioned that, generally speaking, women only wear about 20 per cent of the clothes they possess, and appearance accounts for 55 per cent of first impressions.

Body shape, colouring and personality all influence the type, and most of all the colour, of clothes which are most flattering, and Kate demonstrated this by selecting some members and suggesting the colours which would be most suitable for them.

Details of forthcoming events were given which include a barbecue at The Vyne pub, the Village Show, at which the group is running the tombola stall, a New Forest walk arranged by federation, as well as the usual monthly scrabble, bridge and craft sessions. Later in the year, there will also be a trip arranged by the federation to the Olympic sites, which should be most interesting.

The meeting in August will be a Dabble evening with a Christmas theme so members need to have some ideas in mind well in advance and, as usual, visitors will be most welcome.

The meeting will be on August 9 at Andover Road Village Hall at 7.30pm.
