HOOK Table Tennis Club: A new club for over 60s has started meeting at Hook Community Centre on Mondays, from 11am to noon.

Two tables and a warm welcome are ready for ladies and gentlemen who are beginners, through to those who are regular players.

The emphasis is on fun and gentle exercise rather than competition... although fielding some players for inter-club friendlies and the Hampshire County Council’s Ping Pong event is a possibility. Contact Ian Richards on 07768 840676.

STEADY and Strong classes – specifically aimed at frailer older people who are having trouble with their balance and walking, these community exercise classes improve stability and strength to help prevent falls. Pre-registration and assessment is essential for Fridays, from 1pm to 2pm at the community centre. Call Julie Hewson on 01256 302249.

QUIZ Night: Hook Village Halls are holding a Quiz Night at the community centre on November 28.

Entry £12 per team of six with a cash prize. Call 764000 to register.
