FIREWORKS: At Silchester House, on November 7, gates open at 6pm. Get your advance tickets from The Calleva and Jay’s Stores, adults £7, children £3.50, family (four) £18. There’s a barbecue, plus a Pumpkin competition. Fireworks start at 7.30pm.

RESIDENT priest Rev Canon Ken Batt leaves the church and the village on his final retirement. His last service in church will be November 1, and Ken will also conduct the Remembrance Day Service at the War Memorial on November 8.
