TEAS continue each week on Saturday and Sunday in the Parish Church and on Sunday only at the Methodist Church.

GARDEN open at West Silchester Hall, Bramley Road, on Sunday, 5 August from 2pm to 5.30pm Entry is adults for £4, children go free.

BLESSING of pets on the Common on Sunday, 5 August, is part of an outdoor service celebrating creation. This will be a short service, bring your pets or animals of any type. It would be sensible also to being a picnic chair. Refreshments for humans and water and dog biscuits for our guest animals.

CRICKET: a remarkable innings by Ollie Dodd saw Silchester win last Saturday’s game away to Littleton & West Hill by seven wickets and move up to sixth in the league table. Going in to bat with the score at 13 for 3 and chasing 144 to win he scored 107 not out, 96 of which came in boundaries! Silchester reached their target without further loss, recording a resounding victory. Next Saturday they are home to Basingstoke & North Hants IV.
