RENAULT dealer Autoplanet is offering one lucky Daily Echo reader and their guest the chance to rub shoulders with some of the country’s top racing drivers in a fantastic competition.

The prize is a VIP day out to Thruxton to watch the opening rounds of the British Touring Car Championship!

The dealership in Second Avenue is giving away a pair of VIP tickets to rounds one, two and three of the much-loved saloon-car series, all on Easter Sunday, Sunday, April 4, at the Hampshire circuit which is the fastest on the BTCC calendar.

On the day the lucky winners will be greeted by their host in the Renault Race Centre – an exclusive hospitality area for Renault drivers and teams – before enjoying breakfast and hot and cold refreshments.

After this the winners will have time to explore the race paddock and see teams get ready for the day ahead before making their way to the trackside viewing areas to wait for the lights to go out for the start of the first race.

As well as being able to watch all the Touring Car action, the winners will be able to see the two Renault championships on track which are both prominent support races to the BTCC.

The Michelin Formula Renault UK Championship is a thrilling single-seater series where cars can reach speeds of up to 150mph and boasts 2008 Formula One World Champion Lewis Hamilton among its previous champions (2003).

Meanwhile, the ELF Renault Clio Cup with Michelin series uses cars based on the roadgoing Clio Renaultsport 200 and has long been regarded as a fans’ favourite thanks to its wheel-towheel and bumper-to-bumper racing.

And that’s not all! The winners will also be treated to a twocourse lunch as well as being taken to meet one of the Renault drivers competing on the day!

Here they’ll be able to go behind-the-scenes and discover first-hand what it’s like to race at high speeds.
