THE new Vauxhall Astra caused quite a stir with shoppers when it was unveiled to the public at the WestQuay shopping centre in Southampton last weekend.

Bargain hunters in the busy city centre arcade admired the new Astra’s sleek shape, hi-tech interior and roomy seats and more than 300 went a step further by requesting test drives or information about the new model, said local Vauxhall dealer Hartwell.

General sales manager Shaun Fay said: “I certainly think car buyers in Hampshire are shaking off the post-winter blues and are looking for something that will put a smile back on their faces. The new Astra certainly does that with stylish looks and prices starting at £12,495.”
