CUSTOMERS at an electronics store were given top tips on how to make their homes more eco-friendly with solar energy.
Maplin, in Winchester Road, Basingstoke, held a special advice day in the hope of raising awareness about the benefits of solar energy, and also to give shoppers expert advice on how easy it can be to go green in the home.
Staff also encouraged customers to sign a petition calling for the Government to remove VAT on all energy-efficient technology in the home.
Paul Dundas, regional manager for Maplin, said: "We believe that the wide range of solar technology and gadgets available to consumers means that we are all now in a position to do our little bit to help the environment and reduce energy consumption in the home or on holiday."
