Basingstoke's premier recruitment and jobs fair takes place at the Apollo Hotel on September 19

SCORES of jobseekers should make a date in their diary and make a beeline for a premier Basingstoke recruitment jobs and careers fair.

The event takes place at the Apollo Hotel, just off the Aldermaston Roundabout, on Wednesday, September 19.

Organising the jobs fair, which will take place from 11am to 6.30pm, is The Gazette ’s recruitment sales manager Linda Cenci.

Linda said: “The Apollo Hotel is a great venue with excellent facilities and plenty of free parking, so we will be expecting the fair to be a great success, with plenty of people popping along to see what opportunities there are locally – whether they are unemployed and looking for a job, or those who are perhaps looking for a new employer or want a change in career.”

Linda aims to attract about 25 exhibitors, and some great companies have already come on board, including leading mergers and acquisition specialist BCMS, based in Kingsclere, healthcare recruitment specialists Nurse Plus, the National Careers Service and Jobcentre Plus.

Linda said: “We also want to make the fair a bit different from previous years. Local companies and organisations will be on hand offering advice on writing CVs and cover letters, as well as offering interview technique tips and even suggestions on personal appearance when attending an interview. So any businesses that are able to offer advice to recruitment candidates will be more than welcome.”

Attending the fair also makes good sense for those businesses on the lookout for new recruits.

Linda said: “It’s a great way of promoting your business as well as a good way of attracting the very best employees locally.”

Linda is able to offer some very competitive stand prices for the event, with a 4ft table costing £100, while a 6ft table is priced at £150. She is also on the lookout for a local business which would like to be the event’s headline sponsor.
