Liz Jackson, managing director of Great Guns Marketing headquartered in Basingstoke has received an honoray doctorate

A LEADING Basingstoke businesswoman has received her doctorate from Staffordshire University.

Liz Jackson, the managing director of B2B telemarketing business Great Guns Marketing, based at The Square, on Basing View, received the honorary doctorate in front of 2,000 people at the university’s graduation ceremony.

The honour was bestowed in recognition of her achievements in the world of business. Liz said: “I’m really thrilled and honoured to receive this award. It’s been great to be part of the university’s graduation ceremony and to hear about the success of so many graduates from the business school. I love the world of business so to receive this award, for doing what I love, is so very special.”

In her acceptance speech, Liz gave some sound advice to the graduates. She said: “Work hard and don’t rely on luck – luck is where hard work meets opportunity.” And, of course, true to form she passed on Henry Ford’s quote, for which Liz has become synonymous. “If you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are absolutely right.”
