Expo event is worth its weight in gold
9:00am Sunday 8th July 2012 in Business By Richard Garfield
MORE than 400 people attended the latest Hampshire Business Expo event at The Apollo Hotel in Basingstoke.
It was the second expo event organised by Matthew Larcome who heads Hampshire Business Network, based at Winton House, in Winton Square, Basingstoke.
Chuffed with how the event went, Matthew said: “We had all these companies that wanted to get out there and promote their businesses.
“The whole theme this year was going for gold and winning more business, and we definitely got a gold medal. It was an event where you made good connections, where a lot of quality business was done.
“The exhibition was great fun and we had some great speakers – with the keynote speaking being Dave Gammon, from ACTION coach, who spoke about six success secrets that athletes know, but business owners ignore.”
Among the exhibitors was BUPA, Jobsite, Basepoint Basingstoke and vacancy2market.
Suzie Day, from vacancy2 market, which is a recruitment business, based at Chineham Business Park, said the expo proved to be a fruitful day.
“We picked up four new clients and are now working on two vacancies – one local role and one national. It was a productive event where we were there to seek out new clients and make more people aware of vacancy2market. We had a lot of interest and positive feed-back.”
