A BUSINESS unit that supplies the ingredients and equipment to make bath bombs is fizzing again after bouncing back from a fire drama.

Based at Unit 4, Bessemer Park, in Bessemer Road, Basingstoke, the business that supplies moulds and ingredients such as sodium bicarbonate and citric acid is called Bathbomb.biz.

Owned by Amanda Barber, the company supplies a very wide range of toiletry materials and equipment to home and professional crafters, who make soaps, melts, bath salts and lip balms. Through its website, its kits are sold all over the country and across Europe.

Following a disastrous fire that destroyed several business units at Bessemer Park on December 1 last year, it was five weeks before Bathbomb.biz was back in business.

“The day the fire happened was our busiest shipping day,” said Amanda. “We were worried we were going to go out of business.”

The cause of the blaze is unknown, but it left 10 businesses counting the cost of the damage. Fortunately for Amanda and her team, the Bathbomb.biz premises was not actually damaged by the fire, but it still caused big problems.

Amanda said: “The fire set us back because we could not receive any goods in and couldn’t plan our stock ordering for the spring.

“We try to change what we offer on our website to make it fresh and interesting, but all that was forgotten while we dealt with the basics.”

Despite the fire setback and the rough economic times, business is going well for Bathbomb.biz with Amanda and her team continuing to find new customers.

And to help raise the profile of the business locally, Bathbomb.biz is holding an open day from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, which will include free make-and-take workshops where visitors can learn how to make their own bath bombs.
