SOCIAL media software company CubeSocial has been named as a Top 20 Start-up of 2011 by entrepreneur magazine Startups.

The list includes leading British start-ups across all sectors, and is the latest accolade for the rising star company, based at Absolutely Offices, in Chineham.

Since its launch in mid-2011, by former Morgan Stanley executive director Linda Cheung and former Microsoft lead program manager Mark Bower, CubeSocial has been named as a Top 20 Idea in The Guardian, selected as a Company to Watch in The Business Magazine’s TV250 awards and was last week announced as one of the local winners in The Gazette’s Local Business Accelerators competition.

Linda and Mark set the business up to capitalise on the growing social customer relationship management (CRM) market that research firm Gartner predicts will grow to £650million this year.

Delighted with the news that CubeSocial has been recognised as a one of the UK’s top 20 start-ups, Linda said: “This was a fantastic way to end 2011 and is great recognition for all the team at a national level.”

CubeSocial’s innovative social CRM software allows professionals to win new business through social media.

Linda said: “At its heart, all business is about relationships. CubeSocial allows professionals to cut through the noise of social media in order to identify new prospects and build profitable business relationships.”

Praising businesses such as CubeSocial, for their tenacity, creativity and resilience, Georgina-Kate Adams, from Startups, said: “For many businesses, growth in 2011 has been hit by the economic permafrost, but that hasn’t stopped a number of green shoots from pushing through.”
