Law firm steps in to sponsor award

PHILLIPS Solicitors is on the lookout for an individual who has made a significant commercial impact in north Hampshire.

The law firm, based in London Street, headed by Howard Gardener, is sponsoring the Lifetime Achievement Award – one of 12 cate gories up for grabs in the INSPIRE10 Business Awards.

Howard said: “Although we have been involved and have supported INSPIRE from the beginning, this is the first time we are sponsoring an award.”

A founding partner at the firm, which was set up in 1986, Howard said: “We deal with a lot of commer cial work and so it’s important to us that we celebrate local people who are bringing jobs and prosperity to Basingstoke and north Hampshire.

“We are looking for somebody who has been involved in north Hampshire and Basingstoke’s economy, and who has been making a significant contri bution over the last 20 years plus – because that’s what we like to think we have done.”

Howard feels that there should be plenty of candidates who could fit the bill, from large, medium and small businesses.

The awards are set to take place on Thursday, November 18, at a venue that is yet to be confirmed.

The closing date for nominations is Friday, September 10.

Howard said: “The INSPIRE Business Awards get better each year, and I think everybody is building up enthusiasm for this year’s event.”
