MEMBERS of local small and medium-size enterprises will have an opportunity to meet industry-leading innovators from the world of information and commu nication technology at The Hampshire ICT Futurology Conference.
Organised by 3EN Ventures and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, the event will take place at The Ark Conference Centre, on Tuesday, January 26, from 2pm to 5.30pm.
Nick Gurney- Sharpe, 3EN’s chief investment officer, said a number of indus try-leading companies, including Basingstoke-based Huawei Technologies and MWR Infosecurity, will present on the research gaps and new-sector demand they envisage over the next five years, covering telecommunications, software/hardware and media.
The borough council, working with Greenham Common Trust and SEEDA, will also be announcing more details on the launch of the new Basingstoke Incubation and Innovation Centre, at Norden House, Basing View.
Borough council leader Councillor Andrew Finney, with representatives from Greenham Common Trust, will explain the purpose and structure of the unit and its importance within over all north Hampshire’s enterprise develop ment.
Nick explained: “This event remains genuinely unique within the region.
Technological multi-national corporations need to achieve a continuous, focused, and highly selective research and development flow, and by creating a forum at which there can be genuine communication and interactivity between the very large and more early stage businesses within the borough, we can support innovation and collaboration.”
