THE Dynamic Dalys will be aiming high as they seek to climb 3,500ft to the summit of Mount Snowdon on Saturday.
The management team and office staff from DalyCBM, which is a family-run business, based in Lennox Road, Basingstoke, providing repair and maintenance service for bakery, catering and refrigeration equipment, are to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
Lisa Pooley, the company’s customer service and HR manager, is among the intrepid group, who will take part in the RMHC Challenge Event for the five-mile climb.
Lisa said: “McDonalds is one of our big customers and they have been contacting all the businesses that they deal with and asking them to put forward a team.
“We’re taking part because we feel that the charity is really important, providing a vital link to families.
“RMHC is an independent charity which aims to provide free home away from home accommodation at specialist children’s hospitals, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life.”
Looking forward to this weekend’s climb, Lisa said: “There will be eight of us, calling ourselves the Dynamic Dalys.
“We are splitting into two teams. One will be our fast team who will be going that extra mile to get to the top first, which would be great as we’d like to beat some of our competitors who are also taking part. I’ll be in the slower team, hopefully enjoying the views and sunshine.”
Among the Dynamic Dalys will be the company’s managing director Sarah Daly and technical director Brendan Daly.
“He’ll also be carrying some additional weight,” said Lisa. “Brendan said if we reach our target of raising £1,000 in sponsorship, he’ll carry an extra 10kg with him – we’re hoping that’ll be sweets, to give us some energy to come back down.”
