A CARE provider is taking part in a national campaign to celebrate the work of its staff.

Bluebird Care Hook and Kingsclere is celebrating its team of home care assistants, and the difference they make in their local communities every day, as part of a nationwide campaign, which launched on Tuesday, 8 May.

The #MakeADifference campaign, spearheaded by Bluebird Care, a national provider of home care in the UK, aims to highlight and raise awareness of domiciliary care as a profession, which enables vulnerable people to receive the care and support they require in the comfort of their own homes.

With the rapidly increasing ageing population and rising numbers of people living with complex conditions - that require specialist care - for example Dementia, Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease, and more people choosing to opt for care at home, this campaign aims to highlight how patient, kind and compassionate individuals can make a real difference working in domiciliary care.

Tania Verney, Bluebird Care Hook and Kingsclere’s longest-standing care assistant at over 10 years, said: “I am proud to be part of a team of people at Bluebird for the last 10 years. "We make a difference in a community where I am lucky enough to both live and work.

I help individuals remain in their own home, providing the best possible care, tailored to their individual needs and wishes. I have the honour of going into people's homes ensuring they have no need to consider moving or the upheaval of taking their life and their memories into a care home setting.

"I love taking the time to hear all the stories and building trust with each and every customer. I love being a care assistant.”
