AN ANNUAL charity Christmas appeal by a storage firm has been launched.

The Access Self Storage Christmas Charity Appeal is now open, with residents and businesses invited to drop off toys, biscuits and chocolates which will be raffled off to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice.

Donations can be left at Access Self Storage Basingstoke, in Rankine Road.

Access Self Storage Basingstoke manager Mike Blaszkowicz said: “Our staff selected St Michael’s Hospice to receive this year’s donations because we really believe in the great work they do.

“The acts of kindness that the collection inspires is a reminder to everyone that there are people out there who really care, and who are happy to put a smile on someone’s face they haven’t even met, simply because it’s Christmas.”

Jackie Ridge, corporate partnership manager at St Michael’s Hospice said: “We are delighted to have been chosen for the Christmas Charity appeal. To have the support of such a key organisation in Basingstoke is fantastic.

“Our mission at St Michael’s is to enable people faced with life-limiting illness, their families and carers, to attain the highest quality of life by providing a choice of specialist care and support.

“All our services are provided free of charge and this year will cost £3.9 million with only 20 per cent of that funded by the clinical commission group. Fundraising within the community and from local business is vital. “

“Without the amazing support of local businesses, we would be unable to continue the wonderful work and support the hospice provides at a time when it is truly needed. Thank you so much for your support which can and does make a difference”

Donations may be left Access Self Storage Basingstoke’s reception where they will be stored until they are delivered to St. Michaels Hospice after December 15.
