JOBSEEKERS should make a note of Tuesday October 6 in their diaries for The Gazette Jobsfair.

It is being held in association with Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council at The Anvil, running from 10am to 3pm.

A host of exhibitors will be on hand to offer advice and discuss up and coming opportunities, along with free seminars and one-to-one advice clinics.

Gazette sales manager Guy Hanson said the jobs fair provides a great chance for employers to promote themselves and showcase what they do.

Among those who have already signed up are GAME Retail, Nurse Plus, Abicare, Scope and All Care.

Guy said: “The fair aims to provide a valuable link between employers and employees.

“It’s a great opportunity for businesses, whether they are a large, medium or small company to get a higher profile and engage with the community, especially for those that are looking to expand or employ more people.

“Businesses can meet prospective employees face-to-face before the interview stage.

“It’s also a good platform to gain publicity for their products as well as career opportunities.”

Delighted that the jobs fair is once again being held at The Anvil, Guy said: “The venue is ideal and should attract a high footfall, being in the town centre, close to the railway and bus stations.”

Throughout the day there will be a packed seminar programme giving advice and guidance on a range of topics from writing a CV and succeeding at interviews as well as interactive workshops, courtesy of the Watermill Theatre.

In addition, the National Careers Service and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council will be on hand offering one-to-one advice sessions on improving CVs, interview skills, returning to work and self employment.
