A BUSINESSMAN who is clearly a cut above the rest has received a Master Craftsman Award, from The Hairdressing Council.

Graham Kent, who owns FHC for Hair in Kingsclere Road, Basingstoke, said he is chuffed to have received the award.

“After 40 years in the trade and the last 25 as a salon owner, I finally got round to applying for recognition as a Master Craftsman and I’m delighted,” said Graham.

“The award recognises your length time in the profession, the standards you have set and your competency.

“I have done all aspects of hairdressing, including teaching and demonstrating both in this country and abroad.

“It’s a great honour to receive this award, as there are only a handful of hairdressers in Basingstoke who have it.”

Graham who set up FHC for Hair with his wife Marie in 1990 has been a senior state registered hairdresser for several years.

The business offers professional hairdressing services for both men and women, including specialist perming, colouring, straightening and services for afro hair.

The business was previously based at Elmwood Parade in Winklebury, until it moved to its current location two-and-half-years ago.

Graham said: “We have been very pleased since our move as we’ve kept a lot of our regulars which is what the business is all about and attracted a lot of new customers too.”
