LED By Vision is keen to help its clients save lighting energy costs with help through funding from the European Regional Development Agency.

The Mapledurwell-based firm designs bespoke lighting solutions where clients can replace traditional lights with energy efficient LEDs.

Tyrone Garrick, head of business development, is keen to alert business owners to a grant scheme called Low Carbon Workspaces, which assists organisations to reduce the amount of money spent on energy, through the installation of energy efficiency solutions such as insulation, efficient glazing and LED lighting.

Match funded grants of up to £5,000 are available to small to medium sized enterprises.

However, the grant scheme is set to end in December 2015.

“SMEs can make huge savings,” said Tyrone, citing a local example where chiropractor Back2Health, based in Cliddesden Road, Basingstoke could save around 80 per cent of its electricity through lighting costs “At the moment a lot of people don’t know about the grants that can help them be more sustainable.

“We’ve approached in excess of 50 businesses in Hampshire and not one knew about this funding that is available to them.”

And as Tyrone admits: “We’re very keen that they have access to the funding and access to the products which we supply.

“The difference with our business model is that we don’t just say ‘here you go, you can have 10 lights,’ we will talk and guide you through the whole process.”

The firm is certainly growing and has attracted several local clients, plus companies further afield, like Solent Bodybuilders, in Fareham, which can expect to see its investment paid for within two years.

Another client that can expect substantial savings is a new luxury kitchen and bathroom showroom room called My Dream Space that is soon to open in Roentgen Road, Daneshill East, Basingstoke.
