A LIVE cyber-attack was demonstrated at Centerprise International’s recent Defence Technology Event.

Giving the demonstration that is “supposed to be impossible” was cyber-attack specialist Bruce Wynn.

The annual event presents to an invitation-only audience the latest and greatest defence Information Technology offerings, and this year it was held at The Ark Conference Centre, in Basingstoke.

Mr Wynn’s demonstration of how cyber specialists of the past, present and future can and will use hacker specific applications to collect information left the audience absolutely stunned, according to Richard Austin, marketing head of Centerprise International, based at the firm’s head office on Hampshire International Business Park, in Basingstoke.

He said many of those attending were prompted to reconsider the way that they use mobile devices.

Mr Austin said: “We were delighted to introduce Bruce Wynn to the event attendees this year.

“His presentation and live demonstrations of cyber hack-attacks, and ways for avoiding them, were absolutely riveting.

“He had the attention of the audience for a full hour that honestly went by in a flash. We would very much like to invite him back again.”

Mr Wynn said: “I’d be delighted to come back to another Centerprise Defence Technology Event. The audience was both knowledgeable and happy to interact with me during the demonstrations, and that interaction helped to get the message across.”

Mr Wynn added: “There are many people out there who seek to use the technology of the internet to exploit the naive and the unwary, but there are many simple things that can be done to reduce the risk. My demonstrations vividly show what they can do, and how we can help to reduce the risks.”

Among those who attended the event were representatives from world-renowned brands Dell, Fujitsu, Becrypt and Toshiba, who demonstrated their latest IT developments.
