THE Country Land and Business Association has appointed David Hill as South East regional surveyor to provide expert advice to CLA members in south east, and to help tackle issues affecting the rural economy.

The organisation represents around 5,000 landowners, farmers and rural businesses throughout south east.

David joins the CLA from Savills, where he has specialised in strategic estate management for more than ten years.

He will provide advice and guidance to CLA Members on issues related to landownership and rural business ownership.

He will also play a key role in CLA South East’s work representing members’ views across the region.

David said: “The South East’s rural economy is facing a range of challenges from poor broadband through to onerous amounts of red tape and the threat of compulsory purchase.

“The CLA is ideally placed to protect our members’ interests and help them to develop and grow their businesses. I am looking forward to working with CLA colleagues and members in this role.”

Robin Edwards, CLA South East director said: “David has in-depth knowledge of rural and landowning issues and will be a major asset to our team in the South East.”

CLA South East covers Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, the Isle of Wight, Kent, Oxfordshire, Surrey, East and West Sussex.
